BM #01 An 8-minute video that differentiates between Christ and Buddha in how they faced death.

Their personalities differ widely. How they dealt with life and death, particularly in how they respectively confronted death is crucial to understanding eastern meditation. In the face of death Buddha meditated whilst Chist took on our mortal flesh and took and defeated death.

BM # 02 Can contemplative practices based on Satan’s lie regarding the existence of an “immortal spirit/soul” eventually be of such a delusion as to become an unpardonable sin ?

As it was in Eden, Satan's seduction is that when we cross over to his side, we will be awakened to the realization that we possess an in-born divine and immortal soul of God. Has contemplative Christianity in its amalgamation with eastern meditation fallen for Satan's lie to the point in their practices that the delusion of their possession of such a divine immortal soul/spirit and its oneness with God, qualify as the unpardonable sin ?

We know that Eve was deceived, but it was obviously pardonable. What is being considered here is whether in the course of the development and maturing of Satan’s lie into unbiblical Christian contemplative meditation, when the practitioners experience in-born “divinity” within themselves and when in deeper meditation, experience “ oneness with God, the Divine”, that the delusion of  possessing in-born divinity results in the wilful rejection of the Holy Spirit to the extent that it becomes  an unpardonable sin.

A Common  Myth among Christians is that man was born with an immortal/divine soul.

Fallen man is not “immortal” . After the fall, God said “…. lest he put forth his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever : …. so He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the tree of life.”  We now have no access to the tree of life and cannot live forever.

Fallen man is not “divine”. In concept, divinity as an entity is not divisible. Even if man should possess a spark of God, then man has all of “divinity” within that spark. The word “divinity” itself suggests, “divine unity”. After the fall, man is not in divine unity as one with God. The Bible in 2 Pet 1:4 calls us by God’s “ exceeding great and precious promises” to be progressive “partakers of the divine nature” that we might interactively and progressively add to faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and charity. This process suggests restoration through “partaking of the divine nature”. It does not suggest “ possession” of the divine entity even in microcosm.

Blasphemy is when man makes himself God.

John 10: 30.  I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Why did the “beast” of Rev 13:1 have the name of blasphemy upon his head ?

When the beast sought for itself the attributes of God …. when he sought to be worshipped, then he had the name of blasphemy upon his head ! Rev 13:4

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

How did Jesus define the unpardonable sin ?

Jesus was healing and casting out demons by the power of God, but the Pharisees asserted that Jesus was operating in the power of Beelzelbub. In this context, when the work of God is attributed to and wilfully asserted to be the work of the devil when there is clear evidence that it is the work of God as in this case when it was Jesus Himself working these miracles, then Jesus defined the assertions as “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” which shall not be forgiven.

Matthew 12 : 31  Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Conversely, when it is asserted by certain contemplatives that the “deceptive lie of the immortal soul by Satan ”  is the “ truth and work of God Himself ” ; are such assertions unpardonable blasphemy ?

Some leaders of the Contemplative Tradition also assert the lies of Satan in the existence of an “immortal soul” as a gift, that it is the work of God. They assert that God had in His wisdom and love put into each human being His divine-immortality such that through contemplative practices, we might discover and so become one with GOD, THE DIVINE.  Some go so far as to assert that through meditative or centering prayer, one becomes indistinguishably one with  God Himself.  Consider these 2 examples which are quite typical of the modern Contemplative Tradition :

Father Thomas Merton:  At the center of our being is a point of nothingness which is untouched by sin and by illusion, a point of pure truth, a point or spark which belongs entirely to God, which is never at our disposal, from which God disposes of our lives, which is inaccessible  to the fantasies of our own mind or the brutalities of  our own will. Because when you die, that is all that is left. When we die, everything is destroyed except this one thing, which is our reality that God preserves forever. He will not permit its final destruction. And the thing is, that we know this. This is built into that particular little grain of gold, this spark of the soul, or whatever it is. It knows this. And the freedom that matters is the capacity to be in contact with that center. For it is from that center that everything else comes.….contemplative prayer is nothing other than ‘coming into consciousness’ of what is already there.

Father Thomas Keating :  “ …. the spiritual journey is… the realization, not just the information, but the real interior conviction that…there is a higher power or God. Or to make it as easy as possible for everybody, there is an Other…. Capital  O. Second step…. To try to become the Other….still a capital O….And Finally the realization that there is no Other. You and the Other are One, always have been, always will be. You just think that you aren’t…. “

Concluding thought

Jesus defined unpardonable sin as “ blasphemy against the Holy Spirit “ which in context was the assertion by the Pharisees that the work of God that Jesus performed were of the Devil. In the case of Contemplative Christianity, the work of the Devil (his lies) are asserted as the work of God. Is “ this blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” that shall not be forgiven ?

At the end of time, forgiveness comes to an end. Probation closes. This scenario occurs when  the beast of Rev attributes to himself the role and authority of God and deems himself worthy to receive worship and enforces his mark of allegiance “ 666” as a sign of oneness with him.

Rev 13:8. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

What spiritual belief or practice substitutes a false spirit and which effectively negates the Holy Spirit ? Potentially, those who worship based on the belief that their oneness with God is based on their in-born divinity and contemplatives who discover their divinity through meditation which wilful  assertion negates the need for Christ as their Lamb of God will be guilty of the unpardonable sin. Then when the fullness of such assertion is prevalent, when Spiritualism becomes so manifest that there is no longer forgiveness for such a sin, then there is scant reason for the extension of probationary time any longer. Then the end shall come.

BM #03 Should Christians Do Tai Chi and QiGong,

Cosmic energy are differentiated as hot and cold, fire and water, yin and yang. Tai Chi execises deal with not just the balance of these forces, but the fusion of hard and soft body movements.

The Hegelian Dialectic ( HD ) is a method of resolving disagreement in which some proposition (thesis) is opposed by another proposition (antithesis) with a resolution by a higher-level proposition (synthesis) or fusion of thesis and antithesis.

Can we apply HD to Biblical truth versus error ?  No, as we will end up with a synthesis of truth and error which is neither truth nor error. We often think that an alternative enlightened concept is “ balance” typified by the Chinese as Yin-Yang, but it is not balance that is to be mastered, it is fusion or synthesis of yin and yang that is to be mastered.

The concept of the taiji ("supreme ultimate"), appears in both Taoist and Confucian Chinese philosophy, where it represents the fusion of Yin and Yang into a single ultimate, represented by the taiji symbol .

Note, the supreme master fuses the yin and the yang. He does not just balance them, he fuses them. This is non-dual in action. For greater understanding read Blog Archive #01. Blog Archive: A #01-

BM # 04 Contemplative meditators discover their "immortal soul"

United by their common false understanding in the existence of an "immortal soul".

Biblically … Divinity only begins its work upon us when one is born again. This is accompanied by powerful authentic life experience of sanctification ie partaking of the divine nature. Contemplative spirituality counterfeits authentic transformation with the neural phenomena/euphoria of contemplative highs. If the Biblical truth of immortality, soul and spirit is correctly understood, it will cut at the very root of contemplative spirituality.

Eastern meditation has matured  from the concept of god in pantheism ( energy)  to panentheism, the state of being one with the personified Divine as divine-god-human being (s). Modern Christian contemplatives have wrongly added divinity to immortality as in-born in man at birth.... both the east and Christianity speculate and claim that God’s presence is a birthright waiting to be discovered in meditation.

A contemplative unifying bridge has been built between eastern and Christian contemplatives based on Satan's lie that there is an "immortal soul".

BM # 05 Contrasting Biblical vs Contemplative Foundational Thought.

Non Dual is the state of mind in meditation when neural phenomena alters reality when the contemplative's parietal brain lobe goes offline with the result that he loses his position in 3 dimensional space and feels at one with the whole universe. He is without limit, all polar opposites vanish. The is neither life nor death, heaven nor hell, god nor the devil and neither good nor evil. The contemplative ceases to discern good from evil, becomes all inclusive and falsely interprets this feeling as the unconditional agape love of God

Biblical Truth

The Discernment Between Good And Evil.

Our Need For Christ

Contemplative Presumption : Inner-Divine As Birthright Implies That Man Is Born Righteous. Hence Discernment Between Good And Evil Is Made Obsolete.  Contemplative Foundation= Non Duality = Not Good , Not Evil.

To be  “Born Again” is to share in the death and resurrection of Christ. This is the true baptism of which water baptism is merely a symbol. This is the point at which we turn from our death to life, from sin to righteousness through the Door which is Christ.

In meditation, contemplatives  discover their inner-immortal-divine, that they assume was already there in every human being from birth. Thus possessing divinity from birth, their “way” eliminates any need for the cross and to be born again through the Door which is Christ Himself

We are born again to “partake of the divine nature” in a process called sanctification.  We partake progressively of the divine nature, we do not possess the Divine as a whole in microcosm.

2 Pet 1

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And v 5-7 lists the progression from faith to charity.

Contemplatives claim that deep meditation merges the personal inner-divine with the Greater-divine to the extent that the meditator and God is ONE. Contemplatives believe that they already possess divinity and then meditate to discover divinity within. Divinity is by definition undivided and thus contemplative assume that the have divinity in microcosm in whole.

The Bible teach that God’s spirit comes from the outside to “dwell” within only upon spirit baptism and in-dwelling suggests "interactive workings" or partaking as one grows from faith to virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, kindness and charity.

We are to discern between good and evil through the word of God to the extent of being able to test even an “angel of light”. Hebrews 5:14 KJV - But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

In meditation, Nirvana ( also known as Awakening, Advaita, etc ) is the ultimate when the meditator is  liberated from polar opposites whilst in this realm of life of “life & death”, “ heaven & hell”, “good & evil”. When they are thus awakened, they have gone beyond life and death…. Hence they are freed from reincarnation ( like Buddha ) . Their mind-states have also gone beyond good and evil ( hence freed from karma ). The loss of discernment when good and evil are fused or synthesized into a blend that is neither good nor evil is described as non-dual.

BM # 06 True Christian Facts vs Contemplative Feelings

Christianity is led by FACTS & FAITH which bring with them the authentic FEELINGS. Contemplative Christianity is led by FEELINGS.

“ True Christians” according to the Bible

“ Contemplative Christians” according to their

Feelings

Righteousness by faith comes from without from interactive sanctification from the workings of God upon the person after the person shares in the death and  resurrection of Christ.

Pre-infused divine-immortal-soul from God at  birth and so possess divinity & righteousness  which are waiting to be discovered in  meditation/contemplation practices like “breath prayers” by Rick Warren. “  Centering prayer” by Thomas Keating and  Rick Warren, etc

Genuine love arises as one dies to self and lives in-Christ. By beholding Him, we are changed from glory to glory.

Not just “genuine” but divine love is to be found in the soul in “meditation/contemplation” as a practice independent of Christ.

Loving submission begins with the realization of our own sinfulness in the searching light of God’s love.

Deep “meditation/contemplation” merges the person’s divinity with DIVINE LOVE of God until self/ego is released and the “true self “ emerges.

Faith works by love. As God draws us with His Love He cuts selfishness fron the soul.

Daily “ meditation/contemplation ” refreshes one with the ever PRESENCE of God

Genuine character transformation through cathartic cleansing. “ Show me my secret faults and my presumptuous sins”

By learning to listen one’s own divine-immortal soul who is connected to the great DIVINE, not only character but all is so transformed to the extent that some contemplatives claim to be indistinguishably merged with God.

True rest of faith in-Christ alone. His perfect love increases faith and casts out fear. The element of faith in the word works to establish Christians on the Rock that they may have courage as they live and confront in this evil world.

When liberated and freed from the earthly realm of life /death, good/evil, etc they experience true spiritual rest and liberation known as non dual eg God Encounter, Nirvana, Awakening, Sartori, Universal Consciousness, God Consciousness.
